Hello! In case you would like to visit these wonderful places, I give you here some useful hints.
So, first you should get to Napoli by train (www.trenitalia.com). The fastest, but most expansive train is Eurostar (3,5 h, 42,35 euro one way). However, there are lots of train all the day long, even cheaper ones and also look on the trenitalia website for last minute offers, where u can find trains for 10 euro!
Once in Napoli (but consider to spend at least 1 day to visit this beautiful city and 1 to get to Pompei too!), you can take the ferry or the hydrofoil to reach Capri, Ischia or Procida. (check timetables and prices here: www.snav.it, www.caremar.it, www.navlib.it/). I definitely suggest you to visit Capri (the most beautiful and exclusive island of the gulf, though the most expansive).
To reach Sorrento, the cheapest way is by a special train called Circumvesuviana (www.vesuviana.it), that u can take from the main station. Otherwise, there is a kind of maritime "taxi" called "metro' del mare" (www.metrodelmare.com), that u can take from the harbour, or you can even reach Sorrento by hydrofoil from Capri or Ischia (with the above-mentioned companies).
About the lodging, at the moment I cant suggest you anything, just look on the web. Hotels are really expensive and I don't know about hostels.
However, for further informations u can contact me.
I'm sorry if some websites I suggested are only in Italian, but I assume that all of you are able to speak fluently in Italian!
Bye
Massimo
