Hi everyone, I`m coming to Florence for half a year in february, and I would like to ask those who know about the usage of mobile phones in Italy. Are there any prepaid mobile phone cards available, would any mobile phone work? thanks in advance!
Ciao Nastja, the mobile phones in Italy use a prepaid card..I don't know if the Latvian system is the same of the Italian one..in any case I recommend you to bring your mobile and I'm quite sure that you can buy here a prepaid card (Wind-Telecom-3 or Vodafone) that work with your phone. But...to call abroad please always use Skype!!! Ciao and enjoy your stay in Italy!
If you get a phone from 3 mobile in florence, for only 15 euros a month you can call USA and some other countries for 50 hours a month!!! there is a store near the duomo. also, i found the calling rates to be cheaper than wind or tim. i pay like 10 cents for text message and i think also 10 cents per minute voice call, not sure because i only bought the phone 3 days ago. but 3 sim card will only work with a video phone. i bought a new phone and the calling package for 39 euros total. so before you buy the other, check it out. i could not believe it when i found out.
Hey guys, if you want to call abroad you should use SKype through Internet (never use the mobile!)
While to call inside Italy (landlines and mobiles) every operator (TIM, Wind, Vodafone, 3) has good rates (eccellent rates if you can get the special promotions they often offer to the customers like 1000minutes for free from Tim or other similar from the other...)
