I've been accepted to the Masters of Fashion Merchandising and Management for January 2010. I'm really excited about the program, but would love to hear ANY experiences...positive or negative...of students that are currently studying, or have studied, at Polimoda.
Any help, suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated, as I am still deciding whether or not to attend!
I was surfing the net to learn anything about Polimoda, and I came across students ville.
I am 20 years of age and from Mumbai, India. I want to study the undergraduate course in Footwear and Accessory design at Polimoda. After High school I went to study Fine Arts at Savannah College of Art and Design, Georgia, USA. I attended two quarters at SCAD, but I wasn't inspired, and I realized that Footwear was what I was interested in and not Fine art. And Italy is the best place to study Footwear.
I have been emailing Polimoda for information, but a your student experience and opinion would really help me make a decision about Polimoda.
I don't know any Italian, I plan on learning Italian once I join Polimoda this october. Polimoda said the 1st year classes are bilingual, what was your experience? was it bilingual enough? did you understand your classes, did the professors know good English?
How are the people in Italy? are there many international students at Polimoda? Do you know any Indians?
How is the social scene? Parties? and Polimoda events?
Do you know anyone studying in the undergraduate footwear and accessory design course?
Does Polimoda offer internships 1st years? are the internships with famous designers?
Was Polimoda what you hoped for? is it the best place to study fashion in Italy?
Please give me any information you feel would be helpful to an international student.
We have visited the Polimoda recently...Dec 2012...and we recommend this Fashion Institute! Also, we invite you to explore and take information about IED in Florence and about Accademia Italiana..2 other great schools that we have visited: all 3 are very modern, in great locations, with students from all around the world and with a great level of teaching. These 3 schools definitely represent the excellence of Education in Florence!
